LOW ENERGY FAMILY HOUSE / OPAVA

A small house for a young family. The site is located in a complicated area because of the difficult geological composition, radon contamination and some high - limit restrictions. I was asked by the investors to help them to reduce building costs of their prepared project of a masoned house. One third of the costs were projected for the foundations, substructure and radon insulations. We changed the house disposition and decided to build a light wooden frame based on the foundations reaching above the terrain so we must not to do all complicated radon and waterproof insulations of the groud level. The final budged was about 60% of the original one and was sufficient even for the green roof which protects interior space from the overheating.
